Community guidelines
Cibora’s community is a shared kitchen table. These are the house rules.
Be useful, be kind
- Review the recipe you actually cooked, and say what you changed.
- Reviewing the recipe and reviewing your own attempt are different things — make clear which one you’re writing.
- Questions are welcome; condescension is not.
- Harassment, hate, spam, and impersonation get removed, and repeat offenders lose posting rights.
Suggesting changes
- Suggestions never edit a recipe directly. The recipe owner or a moderator reviews each one.
- Accepted changes create a new version — the history is public and the original is preserved.
- Cite sources for factual corrections (temperatures, regional claims) when you can.
Food safety
Advice about undercooked meat, canning, fermentation, wild mushrooms, allergens, infant feeding, and pregnancy can hurt people. Posts touching these topics get an advisory banner and moderator attention. Never claim a substitution is “allergy-safe” for someone else — only they and their doctor can judge that. Popularity never overrides a safety warning.
⚠️ Food-safety topic
Posts here are community opinions, not professional medical or food-safety advice. For temperatures, preservation, allergens, and feeding infants or during pregnancy, rely on authoritative guidance:
Reporting and moderation
- Report anything unsafe or abusive — reports build a review queue; nothing is auto-deleted by report count.
- Moderators act with a recorded reason, and every action lands in an audit trail.
- If your content is moderated, you’ll be notified in-app. Warnings, restrictions, and suspensions escalate in that order.
Attribution
Recipes citing an outside creator show that attribution on the recipe itself. A creator badge on a community account means the account created the recipe here — we never imply an outside creator has joined or endorsed the platform unless their account is genuinely verified.
