Terms

What you can expect from Cibora, what it expects from you, and what it does not promise. Last updated 7 September 2026.

The short version

Cibora is a cooking app. Use it to find something to cook, plan a week and shop for it. Do not post things you have no right to post. Recipes here are guidance written by people and assembled by software — you are the cook, and the judgement in your kitchen is yours. We do not charge for anything and we do not promise the site will always be up.

Using Cibora

Most of Cibora works without an account: the pantry, the planner and the shopping list all live on your device. An account only exists so you can post recipes, rate them and take part in the community.

If you create one, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You need to be old enough to enter an agreement where you live. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

What you post

Anything you write or upload stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to store it and show it to other people using Cibora — that is all we do with it, and it ends when you delete the post.

Only post what you have the right to post. Someone else's recipe text, someone else's photograph, or a picture with a person in it who did not agree to appear — none of those are yours to publish here. What is and is not welcome is set out in the community guidelines, which are part of these terms.

Moderation

We can hide or remove anything that breaks the guidelines, and can suspend an account that keeps doing it. We would rather explain than delete, so where it is practical you will be told what was removed and why.

Cooking safely — please read this one

Recipes on Cibora are guidance, not instructions from a professional kitchen. Ovens, pans, cuts of meat and altitudes all differ, and no written recipe can see what is actually in front of you.

  • Where a recipe gives an internal temperature, it is there because it is a better guide than colour — but the thermometer, and the decision that something is cooked, are yours.
  • Allergens and dietary labels come from whoever wrote the recipe. If an ingredient matters to your health, check the ingredient list and the packaging yourself. Do not rely on a tag.
  • AI features — scanning a photo of your fridge, suggesting a dish, reading in an imported recipe — can be wrong, and are wrong often enough that you should read what they produce before you cook it.

Cibora is not medical or nutritional advice. If you have an allergy, a condition or a diet that matters clinically, talk to someone qualified rather than to a recipe app.

Numbers, prices and photographs

Nutrition figures are estimates. Where an ingredient has been matched to USDA FoodData Central the numbers come from there; otherwise they are the recipe author's. Either way they describe a typical version of a dish, not the one you cooked.

Prices marked DEMO are demonstration data. They are labelled in the interface wherever they appear, and they are there to show how the shopping list works — not to tell you what anything costs in a shop today. The same is true of anything shown on a “demo floor”.

Dish photography comes from Pexels, under the Pexels License, and shows a version of the dish rather than the exact result of the recipe beside it.

When things break

Cibora is offered as it is. We do not promise it will be available, that it will be free of mistakes, or that a recipe will work out — and there are days when it genuinely is not available.

As far as the law where you live allows, we are not liable for loss that follows from using it: a dish that did not work, a shop that did not have an ingredient, or the site being down when you wanted it. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot legally be limited.

Changes and contact

If what the app does changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Questions about these terms: privacy@ciboraapp.com.
